Division C Final Results
Division C finished with a tight race at the top, as three players closed the event at 4.0-2.0. Spread decided the final order, and Gaurang Shah finished first with a commanding +642 spread after a strong final-game win.
The final standings also included a separate high-win prize outside the place money. Joe Roberdeau claimed that $20 award with a 516-277 win over Bob Brail in Round 3.
Shah takes first place on spread
Gaurang Shah, Penny Sitler, and Sam Swain all ended with four wins and two losses. With the win-loss records equal, spread became the difference-maker.
Shah’s spread of +642 gave him a clear lead over the field. His last game helped seal the top spot, as he defeated Joe Roberdeau 515-271. That result added to an already large spread cushion and kept Shah safely ahead of the other 4-2 finishers.
Sitler took second place with a +230 spread. She entered the final standings tied on record with Shah and Swain, but her final-game loss to Elizabeth Davis, 420-339, narrowed the gap. Even with that loss, Sitler’s earlier work was strong enough to hold second.
Swain finished third at +35 after defeating Jason Pipkin 356-328 in the final round. That win kept Swain in the prize group and completed the three-way tie for best record in the division.
