Cowtown Round 4 Standings Shakeup Across Divisions A to C
Round 4 gave Cowtown a clean leader in Division A, a crowded race in Division B, and a three-way chase at the top of Division C. The standings are starting to separate, but not enough for anyone outside the top spot in A to feel safe.
Mack Meller remains the only undefeated player across Divisions A through C after a 435-405 win over Jeff Fiszbein. Division B tightened around two 3-1 records, while Division C now has three players sitting at 3-1 with big spreads that could matter later.

Division A has one clear target at the top
Division A now runs through Mack Meller, who improved to 4-0 with a 30-point win over Fiszbein. That result did two things at once. It protected Meller’s unbeaten record, and it kept a dangerous 2-2 player from joining the top chase.
Meller’s spread, +252, gives him more than just the best record. It also gives him a strong cushion if standings later tighten. Joey Krafchick sits second at 3-1 after a convincing 443-342 win over Josh Kopczak. Krafchick’s spread is only +32, so the record is doing most of the work for now.
The middle of the division is packed. Trenton Charlson, Fiszbein, Kopczak, and Patrick Beatrez all sit at 2-2, but their spreads tell very different stories. Charlson is third with a strong +145, while Fiszbein is close behind at +108. Those two are positioned well if they can turn even records into winning records in the next round.
Rank | Player | Record | Spread | Round 4 result |
1 | Mack Meller | 4-0 | +252 | Beat Jeff Fiszbein, 435-405 |
2 | Joey Krafchick | 3-1 | +32 | Beat Josh Kopczak, 443-342 |
3 | Trenton Charlson | 2-2 | +145 | Beat Steve Grob, 419-398 |
4 | Jeff Fiszbein | 2-2 | +108 | Lost to Mack Meller, 405-435 |
5 | Josh Kopczak | 2-2 | -65 | Lost to Joey Krafchick, 342-443 |
6 | Patrick Beatrez | 2-2 | -164 | Beat Jason Idalski, 435-406 |
7 | Steve Grob | 1-3 | -3 | Lost to Trenton Charlson, 398-419 |
8 | Jason Idalski | 0-4 | -305 | Lost to Patrick Beatrez, 406-435 |
One of the more interesting lines belongs to Steve Grob. At 1-3, he is near the bottom, but his spread is only -3. That suggests close losses rather than a player being outpaced. If he flips one or two close games, his position could change quickly.
Jason Idalski remains winless, but his Round 4 score of 406 shows scoring power. The issue is stopping opponents, not finding points.
Division B is tight despite a clear first place
Division B may be the most unusual table after four rounds. Kristy Zurbrick leads at 3-1 with a healthy +167 spread, but her latest win over Mike Stafford was razor thin: 485-477. That eight-point margin mattered a lot. It kept Zurbrick alone on top by spread and dropped Stafford to 1-3 despite his positive spread.
Daniel Stock also sits at 3-1, but his Round 4 loss was costly. Sebastian Knowles beat him 436-243, a 193-point swing that pushed Stock’s spread down to -71. A 3-1 record usually feels secure at this point, but that spread leaves less room for error.
Knowles made the biggest move in Division B with that win. He climbed to 2-2 and now has a positive spread at +42. Gary Perman also helped himself, beating John Healy 434-380. Anthony Anzaldi, Jr. picked up a needed win over Doug Szymkowiak, 432-404.
Rank | Player | Record | Spread | Round 4 result |
1 | Kristy Zurbrick | 3-1 | +167 | Beat Mike Stafford, 485-477 |
2 | Daniel Stock | 3-1 | -71 | Lost to Sebastian Knowles, 243-436 |
3 | John Healy | 2-2 | +83 | Lost to Gary Perman, 380-434 |
4 | Sebastian Knowles | 2-2 | +42 | Beat Daniel Stock, 436-243 |
5 | Doug Szymkowiak | 2-2 | -26 | Lost to Anthony Anzaldi, Jr., 404-432 |
6 | Gary Perman | 2-2 | -87 | Beat John Healy, 434-380 |
7 | Mike Stafford | 1-3 | +4 | Lost to Kristy Zurbrick, 477-485 |
8 | Anthony Anzaldi, Jr. | 1-3 | -112 | Beat Doug Szymkowiak, 432-404 |
Stafford’s line is easy to overlook, but it may be the most telling. A 1-3 player with a +4 spread has likely been in the mix more often than the record shows. By contrast, Stock’s 3-1 record with a negative spread creates an unusual standings profile.
That makes Division B hard to read. Zurbrick has the strongest overall position, but several players remain within one result of changing the entire order.
Division C has the widest spread gaps
Division C is led by Gaurang Shah, and his numbers jump off the page. Shah is 3-1 with a massive +421 spread after beating Sam Swain 425-246. That 179-point win created a meaningful gap between Shah and the rest of the field.
Penny Sitler and Joe Roberdeau are right behind him, both also at 3-1. Sitler improved to +288 after defeating Elston Wisseh 479-392. Roberdeau moved to +268 with a 402-361 win over Jason Pipkin. Those three records match, but Shah’s spread gives him the lead for now.
Rank | Player | Record | Spread | Round 4 result |
1 | Gaurang Shah | 3-1 | +421 | Beat Sam Swain, 425-246 |
2 | Penny Sitler | 3-1 | +288 | Beat Elston Wisseh, 479-392 |
3 | Joe Roberdeau | 3-1 | +268 | Beat Jason Pipkin, 402-361 |
4 | Jason Pipkin | 2-2 | +97 | Lost to Joe Roberdeau, 361-402 |
5 | Sam Swain | 2-2 | -14 | Lost to Gaurang Shah, 246-425 |
6 | Elizabeth Davis | 2-2 | -277 | Beat Bob Brail, 400-346 |
7 | Elston Wisseh | 1-3 | -136 | Lost to Penny Sitler, 392-479 |
8 | Bob Brail | 0-4 | -647 | Lost to Elizabeth Davis, 346-400 |
The biggest Round 4 relief likely came for Elizabeth Davis, who moved to 2-2 with a 400-346 win over Bob Brail. The record now puts Davis in the middle group, even though the spread remains steep at -277.
Pipkin also stays very much alive. He is 2-2 with a +97 spread, and his loss to Roberdeau was by 41. That keeps him within striking distance if the leaders stumble.
The round’s biggest takeaways are clear
Round 4 created different stories in each division.
Division A has the cleanest leader. Meller is undefeated, and Krafchick is the nearest challenger at 3-1. The 2-2 group is strong enough to pressure the standings, but it needs help.
Division B is the most compressed. Zurbrick leads, yet the mix of close games and uneven spreads makes the division volatile. One big result could reorder much of the table.
Division C has the strongest top trio. Shah, Sitler, and Roberdeau all sit at 3-1 with large positive spreads. Shah has the edge, but the race is far from settled.
What to watch after Round 4
The next turn in the standings will come down to how leaders handle pressure and how the middle packs respond.
Meller has the clearest path, but every undefeated run becomes harder once the field starts chasing. Zurbrick has a lead in Division B, though the standings beneath her are close enough to shift quickly. Shah has the best spread position in Division C, but Sitler and Roberdeau are close enough by record to keep the race sharp.
After four rounds, Cowtown has one unbeaten player, several 3-1 contenders, and enough spread drama to make every point matter.

Great commentary, thanks!
