The Cleveland Triple Open

A new tournament format makes its debut in the Cleveland, Ohio area on October 3-4, 2009.  The Cleveland Triple Open allows you to select your prize structure "As You Like It."  Choose the "Measure for Measure" elite division, with a larger entry fee and big cash prizes, the "Midsummer Night's Dream" mid-level division, with a moderate entry fee and modest prize payouts, or the "Much Ado About Nothing" division, where the entry fee and the prize payouts both amount to "not too much."  A flyer with complete details is available at right.  Click Here to register online.

The format for the event will be Modified Portland Swiss for divisions with more than 20 players; modified round robin otherwise.

SCHEDULE:
Saturday: Registration 8:45 - 9:15. Seven games starting at 9:30; lunch after three games.
Sunday: Six games starting at 9:00; lunch after four games.

LOCATION: Holiday Inn Elyria. Rooms are available for players on Friday and Saturday nights. To reserve, call (440) 324-5411, ask for the “National Scrabble® Tournament” group rate. Rooms are $69 + tax a night for one king bed or two double beds if reserved by September 16.

DIRECTIONS: Ohio Turnpike (I-80) exit #145 to Ohio 57 North. Turn right on Midway Blvd. and follow signs. The hotel is visible from the turnpike. About 25 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
