The Twenty-second Summit Open Scrabble Tourney will be held on January 17 - 18, 2009 at the Holiday Inn in Hudson, 240 Hines Hill Road, Hudson, Ohio. Tournament Director Christopher Sheppard presents a no holds barred structure, where all levels from beginner to expert compete in an open tournament format.
The tournament begins with 7 rounds of modified Swiss pairings. After round 7, the top 2 players play a best-of-five final, while the next 4 players each play a pair of best-of-two matches to determine places 3 through 6. The rest of the field continues with 4 additional rounds of Swiss pairings.
Tournament Schedule:
Saturday, January 17
12:00 - 12:30 p.m. - Registration (please arrive no later than 12:15 p.m.)
12:30 p.m. - Play begins Rounds 1 - 7 (dinner break after round 4)
Sunday, January 18
12:15 p.m. - Play begins for Rounds 8 - 11 (Best of 5 playoff for top 2 players)

Entry Fee:
$55 in advance
$5 additional (if paying in cash) or $15 additional (if paying by check) for registration at the door
Cash prizes are awarded to the top 7 players. Trophies and ribbons are awarded as well.
