NSA Club #653 will hold its next local club tournament on December 11, 2008 (NOTE THAT THIS IS A CHANGE FROM OUR NORMAL SCHEDULE), at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Montrose. The tournament will consist of four rounds of SCRABBLE® games, with the first round paired modified Swiss and additional rounds paired king-of-the hill, avoiding repeats as much as possible. However, if exactly 4 players are in attendance, the tourney will be paired round robin for the first three rounds, with a final round paired king-of-the-hill.
The tournament will be cancelled if fewer than 4 players are in attendance, and a regular club session will be held instead. The tournament may also be cancelled in the event of severe inclement weather.
There is no fee to play in the tournament but, under NSA rules, all participants must be members of the National SCRABBLE® Association. If you are not currently a member, you may join online at www.scrabble-assoc.com.
Directions:
Take I-77 South from Cleveland (North from Canton) to Exit 136 (Route 18), and head east on Route 18/Medina Road. Barnes & Noble is located on the left side of the road, just east of the expressway.
